The challenge: two weeks without your billionaire fortune!
Greek magnate Stavros Xenakis must go undercover to win a betâand escape his grandfatherâs demands that he take a bride. Until encountering deliciously tempting housekeeper Calli proves that a wife is exactly what he needs!
Calliâs baby being taken away robbed her of the ability to trust anyone. Now Stavrosâs offer to marry her gives her the chance to finally find her son. But Calli doesnât expect their honeymoon to be so sinfully sensualâand for life as the temporary Mrs. Xenakis to be so exquisitely satisfying...
âCalli will be coming to New York with me. As my wife.â
âWhat?â Calli didnât realize sheâd been holding a champagne flute until it hit the tiles and smashed. âWhy on earth would you suggest we marry?â
âMy grandfather has been pressuring me to find a wife. Heâs holding off stepping down as director until I do. All the women I know would demand a real marriage. By that I mean years of my life. Children. Half of my assets if we divorce.â
âYou donât like children?â It suddenly became a pivotal sticking point in a conversation that was too outlandish to be happening, but she couldnât help jumping to a vision of finding her son and watching Stavros reject him.
âIâm told I need an heir, but Iâm in no hurry.â He swirled the clear liquid in the bottom of his glass. âIn fact, I plan to leave that up to my sistersâbut Iâm impatient to take the reins of the company. I need a wife to present to my grandfather. One who will act the part but leave on cue. Why do you want to move to New York? Do you have a deep, dark secret you want to stay buried?â He narrowed his gaze. âTell me now. I donât want a scandal popping up to smudge the family name.â
âIâll wager that not one of you can go two weeks without your credit cards...â

The premise of an undercover billionaire was exciting all by itself, but when I found out I would be working with Rachael Thomas and Jennifer Hayward I was doubly thrilled. They are not just talented authors but wonderful people, and a joy to work with, so I dedicate this book to them with much affection and appreciation for their input.
I would be remiss, however, if I didnât include my husband. While we were brainstorming this story he helped me come up with the heroineâs back storyâspecifically how cruelly Calliâs father betrays her. As we bounced ideas back and forth, and the stakes went up, our voices grew louder and louder, causing our (grown) daughter to come into my office and ask with trepidation, âAre you guys fighting?â To be fair, I usually insist on complete silence while I work, so she had a right to be confused.
PROLOGUE
STAVROS XENAKIS THREW his twenty-thousand-euro chips into the pot, less satisfied than he usually was postchallenge, but it had nothing to do with his fellow players or his lackluster hand.
