Bending his head, Zaire feathered kisses onto Chinaâs cheeks, moving down to her lower lip. His taunting tongue teased her mouth, until she opened up for it to enter. The next several kisses were light and playful.
As the kiss grew hotter with passion, China found it hard to keep from squirming. Her body was on fire from Zaireâs burning touch. Theyâd come so close to making love earlier, but it hadnât happened.
Lying flat on his back, Zaire rolled China over until she was on top of him. Wrapping her up in his arms, he kissed her passionately. Slightly loosening his grip on her, his hand roved the back of her thighs with tenderness.
Prompted by his nearly out-of-control desire, Zaire took his explorations further, slipping his hand under Chinaâs dress and caressing her silk-clad rear. Feeling the prickly heat of her flesh through her panties, his one desperate desire was to cool down her bodyâand heat it right back up, over and over again.
Dear Reader,
I sincerely hope you enjoy reading Seduction at Whispering Lakes, my latest love story featuring China Braxton, R.N., and Zaire Kingdom, owner of Whispering Lakes Ranch, a huge Texas spread offering ranch-style living and a variety of fun country-western events for guests of all ages to enjoy.
An immediate attraction sparks between China and Zaire. As they get to know each other, readers can join them on an adventurous journey. As China learns how life is lived on a dude ranch, she often compares the ranch style of living to living in Los Angeles, her native home.

Pride filled Zaire Kingdom as he sat atop powerful Thunder, one of the most beautiful palominos out of his stable of numerous horses. His golden brown eyes stared down at the magnificent ranch below, as the orange sun slowly descended. The vast acreage where hilly land masses and skies appeared to meet was a sight to behold. The view from the highest ridge on the Brownsville, Texas, property was breathtaking. This was his home.
Several of the nine beautiful lakes on Whispering Lakes Ranch offered great fishing experiences, one of Zaireâs favorite pastimes. The entire place was a relaxation haven for the successful corporate cowboy and his host of family members.
Zaireâs eyes suddenly zeroed in on a car pulled off to the side of the road leading up to the main building where guests registered to check into the log cabinâstyle guest cottages. Spotting a slender figure standing next to the auto, it appeared to be a woman, but he was too far away to be certain. Why the driver had pulled over was his main concern. Guests didnât normally check in this late in the day. He wondered if the car or possibly the driver was in distress. Either way, help was on the way.
Pulling gently on the reins, turning Thunder around, Zaire headed in the direction of the automobile. With the horseâs hoofs flying across the familiar terrain, Zaire felt totally relaxed in the saddle, loving the feel of the wind. Out of the many entertainment venues offered at the ranch, he loved riding his horses and teaching his guests how to ride.
Stopping Thunder a couple of feet away from the car, Zaire dismounted. Tethering the reins to a nearby fence, he walked over to where a young woman leaned against the driverâs door of a late-model Toyota convertible. An expression of total bewilderment was etched on her pretty face. âIs everything okay, Maâam?â
Embarrassment flashing in her sparkling chocolate brown eyes, China Braxton looked up at Zaire. âWould you believe Iâm lost?â
âThatâs not so hard to believe.â Zaire chuckled. âWhere you headed?â
âWhispering Lakes Ranch. I have reservations there. Think you can point a lost city girl in the right direction?â
Zaire grinned. âYouâre already on the ranch.â He pointed ahead. âAnother mile or so up the road is the registration building. Iâll lead the way on horseback.â
China sighed with relief. âThatâs so kind. Are you a guest, too?â
âYou could say that.â He was a permanent guest, but sheâd find it out in due time.
âMy dad told me a lot about this place. I hope it lives up to all his hype. By the way, Iâm China Braxton.â Looking over at the horse, she wished she had the nerve to stroke it. Being intimidated by such a powerful, beautiful animal made her feel silly.
