Chapter #1
Nora woke up with a big smile on her face. Today was her birthday! She ran to the kitchen where her mom, Ezra, was waiting. «Happy Birthday, Nora!» said Ezra. «Thank you, Mommy!» replied Nora. «I have a special surprise for you,» said Ezra. «We are going to bake your birthday cake together!» Nora clapped her hands with excitement.
Chapter #2
Ezra and Nora started by gathering all the ingredients. They needed flour, sugar, eggs, butter, and milk. «Don’t forget the vanilla extract,» said Ezra. Nora carefully measured the flour and poured it into a big bowl. Ezra cracked the eggs and added them to the mix. «This is going to be so much fun!» said Nora. They were ready to start baking.

Ezra showed Nora how to use the mixer. «Hold it steady,» she said. Nora held the mixer tightly as it whirred and spun. The batter became smooth and creamy. «You’re doing great, Nora!» Ezra praised. Nora smiled proudly. «This is going to be the best cake ever!» she exclaimed.

As they were mixing, some flour spilled onto the counter. «Uh-oh!» said Nora. «It’s okay,» said Ezra with a smile. «We can clean it up together.» They grabbed a cloth and wiped the flour away. «Accidents happen,» said Ezra. Nora felt better and they continued mixing. «Teamwork makes everything easier,» said Ezra.
