This book is dedicated to all the wild animals in Africa that make it such an interesting and beautiful place to visit. Also, to the people who strive to keep those animals safe from poachers. They deserve a chance to live and roam free of harm.
Chapter One
âNope. Iâm not going.â One look at the plane theyâd already flown in twice and he was out. Done. Finished. He put himself in harmâs way too often to risk it on vacation.
Percy âPitbullâ Taylor spun on his heels. He started back toward the van and the driver whoâd brought six members of his SEAL team to the small landing strip outside of Camp Lemonnier on the Horn of Africa. âTwice was enough. I thought youâd snared a ride with the 160th Night Stalkers. I prefer helicopters. You know how I feel about crop dusters.â
Buck clapped a hand to his shoulder and turned him back around. âNow, donât go getting your boxers in a twist.â
âI donât wear boxers,â Pitbull grumbled.
âYouâve flown with Marly twice. Sheâs a good pilot and she knows her plane. And itâs not a crop duster. Besides, nothing bad happened on the previous two flights. What makes you think anything will happen this time?â
Pitbull frowned as he let Buck guide him toward the small bush plane theyâd used in their last operation to rescue the US Secretary of Defenseâs son and his hot, tough-as-nails assistant. âYeah, but threeâs a charm.â He tipped his head toward the offending aircraft. âLook at it. I swear itâs only held together by spit and duct tape.â
With a low chuckle, Buck leaned closer. âDonât let Marly hear you badmouth her bird. She might decide to leave us behind.â
