Levi and his dog Barbos lived in their usual Rostov apartment. The phone rang, Dad picked up the receiver. His voice was full of joy, he called Levi and Barbos.

– My brother called, he is going to Birki Island, which is located near

Antarctica. His group studies glaciers.

– Great! Levi shouted.

– If you wish, you can also participate in this expedition.

It is safe and extremely interesting.

– Hooray!» Hurray! Levi and Watchdog yelled. – We’re going to the South Pole!»

A long flight by plane and they found themselves in a land of cold and

eternal ice. There was a station on the island where scientists worked. The guys

helped everyone – a little in the kitchen, a little in the infirmary, and even my uncle and his

friends. Day after day passed without anything interesting happening.

– Watchdog, let’s go for a walk along the shore, today the weather is calm,

let’s look at the ocean.

It was summer at the south pole, but like any other pole, it was

a cool summer. Levi put on a jacket with a special filler that protects

from wind and cold. And they went on an adventure. The whole island was

covered with a huge thickness of ice, and on the shore the glacier abruptly ended and

went into the water. Therefore, the water was very low, and Levi and Watchdog

looked at the surface from a height.

«The water must be cold,» the Watchdog said in Levi’s head.

– Yes, this is not Thailand. Everything is harsh here: the glacier, the sky, and the ocean.

«Look out! What’s it? Watchdog shouted.
